The Legacy of Zero

A personal blog where I will be uploading posts regarding the things most important and most relating to me. Feel free to read my posts, listen to whatever music I may post, and keep an open mind.

Why be interested in how people are when they aren’t even interested how you are.

I feel like the answer to this question is very similar to the one, “Why be a good person when the world is full of bad people?”

Because the world is full of bad people, that’s why. The world can’t keep spinning if there aren’t good people to guide the bad.

Why be interested in how people are when they aren’t interested in you? To show that you care, in the hopes that they might begin to care as well. Because you are better than them, and it’d be wrong to lower yourself to their level. That’s why you have to try your hardest to bring them up to yours.

Mandy Moore - Only Hope (A Walk To Remember) no goofy intro (by MrMugu)

You know what turns people into monsters, Ray? Knowing they can get away with anything. once they realize they aren’t going to be punished for anything they do, the masks come off, baby, and the devils run free.

Arne - Circle of Enemies: A Twenty Palaces novel

Apparently my sister’s puppy has tapeworms.

My sister found one on her leg randomly, and after checking her bed, found a bunch of tiny rice-shaped worm pieces.

And I’m pretty sure a week ago, I accidentally swallowed a flea after taking care of the puppy.

Oh god.

In 3x10, Will’s main argument for why he and Emma shouldn’t get married is that she won’t be able to raise children. This assumes that marriage and babies go hand-in-hand, which isn’t true. Many married couples don’t have kids, sometimes because they don’t want to, other times because they can’t. Will never asks Emma if she wants to be a mother: he automatically assumes that, if she’s going to marry him, then they’re bound to have kids. The worst part? His statement is never refuted.
Top 100 Most Offensive Things/Moments on Glee

Is it so wrong to have expectations in a relationship? Ever since the first season, where he was so ecstatic and excited to become a father (when Terri lied to him about being pregnant), he told Emma just how great it made him feel. She went into this relationship knowing that Will would love to have kids, and it would be wrong for her to be with him if she wants otherwise.
And yes, married couples don’t have to have babies, but as I said before, when Emma said yes to his proposal, she said yes to everything he expected of her. No more, no less.
Will’s indecision regarding marrying her wasn’t about marriage being associated with having children. His indecision was about the fact that one of his dreams in life is to have a happy family, and if Emma were unable to give him that due to her OCD, then something would have to change. It was his struggle between his love for Emma and his dreams of having a family.

Comic Book Boycott of the Day: Conservative group One Million Moms is at it again, directing its not-quite-a-million members to boycott Marvel and DC Comics due to recent announcements from both companies about their futures of their gay characters.
DC has revealed that a major character is soon going to come out as gay, while Marvel announced the engagement of superhero Northstar to his boyfriend, Kyle.
These events don’t sit will with One Million Moms, whose anti-gay agenda has also led them to protest the wedding of Archie Comics’ first gay character, Kevin Keller.
“Children desire to be just like superheroes,” said the group in a statement. “Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible. Can you imagine little boys saying, ‘I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?’”
The statement goes on to accuse the publishers of trying to “indoctrate [sic] impressionable young minds.”
Marvel and DC have yet to respond to the homophobic comments.

Today in Anderson Cooper making people look stupid simply by asking questions: This lady. It may be the best entry in this subgenre of news since this video(via pbump)

i died when he brought up the holocaust omg LADY JUST STOP LOL

I actually managed to finish this video, somehow. And all I got out of it is that God is commanding Christians to kill the gays.

You know what this means? *loads shotgun*

It’s time to go to war against God.

I also abhor the idea that these kids are spouting that they are one persona in the real world, but the “real me” when they’re online.

I’m sorry, but when you claim to act a certain way in real life, but are “real” when you’re alone or online, that’s not the real you. The real you is a combination of the lies and truths you tell. If you act a certain way in public, but are completely different in private, then that makes you somewhat of a liar. You lie to people about who you really are to protect yourself. The real you in that situation isn’t the one you hide, but rather the one doing the hiding.

For example, you can’t go to school, be popular, pick on the nerdy kids, then go work at a charity, claiming to be a good person deep down. You aren’t. You’re a two-faced, selfish person who uses a charity to make yourself feel better.

As much as it might hurt to admit it, the “real” you isn’t always what you want it to be.

I’m watching a documentary on pbs.org about “Growing Up Online”

And even though it’s supposed to be informing me about the dangers of the internet and how this generation is growing up in a dangerous time where information is ripe for the taking, the only thing I’m taking out of it is that parents and children are both idiots. The teens and pre-teens who post provocative pictures of themselves and claim that they’re not like the other sluts on myspace, and the parents who watch Dr. Phil religiously and claim to know enough about people that they need to safeguard their children from predators.

This “wtf is this shit” face is beginning to strain my face. I don’t know how much more I can take.
